The International Water Resources Office and Hydraulics Laboratory, located in the Civil Engineering building at the İzmir Institute of Technology, has been given a more vibrant and inspiring look with new murals reflecting the themes of water resources management and sustainability.

As part of the project, realised with the contributions of Sibel Şentürk and her students, themes such as the importance of water for life, natural ecosystems, water structures and global water resources have been brought to the office walls through an artistic lens. In this way, an aesthetic value has been added to the working and learning environment, whilst the office’s corporate identity has also been visually strengthened.

Reflecting the interdisciplinary approach and vision for sustainable water management of the International Water Resources Programme, this project has created a warmer and more inspiring atmosphere for students, academics and visitors alike.

We would like to thank all our students who contributed to this transformation process, as well as everyone else involved, and we hope that our refurbished office will host new projects, collaborations and academic achievements.
