Öyküm Berfin Gülergül

Our International Water Resources Master’s Program student, Öyküm Berfin Gülergül, successfully defended her thesis entitled “Assessing the Role of Agriculture-Based Geothermally Heated Greenhouse Specialized Organized Industrial Zones in Regional Development and Production Sustainability in Türkiye”, conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Alper Baba and co-supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hatice Eser Ökten Kıran, and successfully completed her master’s degree.

Hazal Durmuş

Our International Water Resources Master’s Program student, Hazal Durmuş, successfully defended her thesis entitled “Analysis of Flood Risks and Comparative Assessment of Flood Mitigation Measures Using a Hydrodynamic Model: A Case Study of the Çamlı Stream Basin, İzmir”, conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Şebnem Elçi and co-supervision of Prof. Dr. Gökmen Tayfur, and successfully completed her master’s degree. Her study analyzed flood risks in the Çamlı Stream Basin using hydrodynamic modeling and comparatively evaluated different flood mitigation measures.

Sevin Dicle Binbir Aslan

Our International Water Resources Master’s Program student, Sevin Dicle Binbir Aslan, successfully defended her thesis entitled “Translating Nature-Based Solutions into Architectural Design Parameters at the Gediz Delta”, conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Erdem Erten and co-supervision of Prof. Dr. Koray Velibeyoğlu, and successfully completed her master’s degree. Her study focused on translating nature-based solutions into architectural design parameters for the Gediz Delta.

Nilüfer Tirol Kırçiçek

Our Environmental Science and Engineering PhD student, Nilüfer Tirol Kırçiçek, successfully completed her doctoral thesis defense for her thesis entitled “Modeling and Forecasting Water Budget of Türkiye for Resilient Cities”, conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Alper Baba and co-supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hatice Eser Ökten Kıran. The study modeled the urban water budgets of Ankara, Istanbul, and İzmir through 2100 and assessed their water security, resilience, and vulnerability under different future scenarios.
